Riyadh: The Saudi Film Commission has announced the launch of Jax Film Studios, a state-of-the-art production complex in Riyadh that marks a significant advancement in the Kingdom’s vision to build a connected and competitive film and media industry.
Set to be completed later this year, the sprawling studio covers over 7,000 square meters and features two large soundstages of 1,500 square meters each, along with a cutting-edge virtual production stage equipped with Sony’s latest screen technology.
The complex is thoughtfully designed to meet diverse production needs, offering a private cinema, meeting rooms, production prep areas, dining facilities, and a VIP lounge.
Conveniently located near hotels, the international airport, restaurants, and a growing network of creative and technical professionals, the facility ensures filmmakers have easy access to local crews, equipment, and post-production services within a 20-minute radius.
Saudi Film Commission CEO Abdullah Al-Qahtani described Jax Film Studios as a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s strategy to establish world-class film infrastructure, empowering local talent while attracting global creatives.
Abduljalil Alnasser, general manager of sector development and investment attraction, highlighted that the studio introduces one of the world’s most advanced virtual production stages powered by Sony’s latest innovations, unlocking limitless creative possibilities and positioning the Kingdom as a premier regional production hub.
This development aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader ambitions to diversify its economy and nurture a vibrant cultural sector under Vision 2030.
